LRHO-1 – Mt Filerimos & Grand Masters Palace
Depart from the pier for a 15 km drive along the West Coast of the island to reach the Mount Philerimos for a spectacular view of the city of Rhodes. On the top of this hill stands one of the three ancient cities of Rhodes – the city of Lalyssos. Here, we can admire the Church of Our Lady – built by the Knights of St John in the 15th century, as well as that of St George which has wall paintings of the 14th and 15th century. Return to Rhodes Town and continue your tour on foot through the narrow, cobblestone streets. Walk down the Street of the Knights and pass through numerous, colorful shops, and the 15th century Hospital of the Knights (which now houses the Archaeological Museum). Browse on a little longer and return to the ship on foot or join your coach return directly to the ship.
LRHO-2 – The Acropolis Of Lindos
Take this wonderful opportunity to spend your day in the most attractive village of Rhodes – the fascinating Lindos. Drive through picturesque little villages and cosmopolitan resorts, before arriving at Lindos and its famous Acropolis. The walls built by the knights dominate the crown of the Acropolis. As you enter the Acropolis, enjoy the ruins of the Castle of the Knights and the Byzantine church of St John covered with eighteenth -century frescoes. From the South slope of the Acropolis, visitors can see the small sheltered harbor of Saint Paul, where the apostle is said to have landed. Continue the walking tour around the picturesque village of Lindos, with its whitewashed houses and the colorful little shops before returning to Rhodes.
LRHO-3 – Mt Filerimos, Panoramic Lindos & Stegna
Drive along the west coast of the island for about 15 kilometers before reaching Mount Filerimos with its wonderful view of the city of Rhodes. On the top of this hill stood one of the three ancient cities of Rhodes – the city of Lalyssos. Visitors can admire the Church of our Lady, built by the Knights of St. John in the 15th century, as well as that of St. George which has wall paintings from the 14th and 15th centuries. Drive to the village of Lindos, passing through picturesque villages on the way. The village of Lindos today has approximately 1000 inhabitants and has been declared a monument for preservation and thus has been able to maintain its traditional color. From a distance, visitors will be able to see the ancient Acropolis of Lindos, which, according to Homer in the Iliad, was built by the Dorians along with the cities of Kamiros and Ialyssos (a considerable nautical power during antiquity). On the return journey, make a short stop for a quick taste of ouzo with some snacks at Stegna seaside village. Pass by Monte Smith overlooking the town of Rhodes, the castle, the coast of Turkey and the nearby islands.
LRHO-4 – Beach Transfer
Departing from the pier, you will enjoy a 45-minute drive along the south east coast of the island before reaching the famous beach of Tsambika.
Beach umbrellas and beach chairs are available for rent on a ‘first come first served basis’. Water sport activities are also available.
