LSAN-1 – Oia Village
Head Northwest of the island for the picturesque town of Oia. Once a major fishing harbour, it is now the calmest place on the island. LSAN-2 – Profitis Elias, Oia Village & Antoniou Winery
Take a local tender to the port of Athinios. Board the waiting coach and take a scenic drive by Pyrgos village – one of the oldest settlements and the highest village on the island. Continue uphill to the Monastery of the Prophet Elijah – the highest point of the island from where the view out over the Caldera is most majestic. Next, head to the northern end of Santorini where the village of Oia is situated. Oia offers magnificent views of the Caldera and the rest of the other islands. Enjoy the traditional Cycladic architecture with its cobblestone streets, beautiful old mansions and houses perched on the cliff side. Explore the narrow streets with the old beautiful houses and the tiny picturesque shops. Next, make your way to a local winery for a tour of the wine chambers and distilleries. After lunch, continue through the beautiful countryside to Fira town – the picturesque capital of the island built on the rim of the caldera wall. Enjoy the town at leisure.
LSAN-3 – Oia Village & Winery
Discover the stunningly attractive setting of Fira and the rest of captivating Santorini. Depart from the port of Athinios and head north to the most picturesque town of Oia. Once a major fishing harbour, it is now the calmest place on the island. Built high up on a ridge of red rocks it offers breathtaking views of the blue Aegean. Explore the narrow streets with the old beautiful houses and the tiny charming shops. Discover the many art galleries, antique shops and boutique style shops located here or enjoy a cap of coffee in one of the local coffee and pastry shops. Next, visit one of the island’s wineries where you will have the opportunity to taste some of the best wines in Santorini, which are renowned for their quality.
LSAN-4 – Volcano Hiking
Board local caique from the Old Port of Santorini for a 15-minute boat trip up to Nea Kameni. The sail will take you along the volcanic shores with the peculiar shape formations. The black volcanic rocks and the white pumice are offer spectacular views. After disembarking the caique, take a 30 minute hike to a crater of the still active volcano. During the walk up on an ascending path, hikers will have the opportunity to observe lava fragments and volcanic rock formations.
Upon reaching the crater, relax and enjoy the view of Santorini Island and the amazing cliff of Caldera. After decending, re-board the caique and depart from the volcanic island. Journey towards the thermal springs of Palea Kameni. The boat will pass by the green sulfuric warm waters with temperatures that reach 37 degrees centigrade. From there you will continue your boat trip towards the ship.
LSAN-5 – Prehistoric Museum & Oia Village
Board local tenders to reach the port of Athinios. Board the waiting coaches and drive up to Fira town. At Fira, you will walk a few meters up the narrow cobblestone streets to reach the Archaeological Museum – The Museum of “Prehistoric Thera” as it is called. Head North to the most picturesque town of Oia. Once a major fishing harbour, it is now the calmest place on the island. Built high up on a ridge of red rocks it offers breathtaking views of the blue Aegean. Explore the narrow streets with the old beautiful houses and the tiny charming shops.
