to different cultures and different times
when Cochin (as it was then called) was
a trading outpost frequented by sea faring
traders from Arabia, China, Holland, Portugal

have in fact become a symbol of Kochi.
These huge cantilevered fishing nets were
built by traders from the court of Kublai
Khan between 1350 and 1450, and are constructed
with teak wood and bamboo poles.
