Danang
Formerly known as Tourane under French rule, it was the most important port in central Vietnam during the 19th century. It was also the landing point of the Americans during the Vietnam War. Today, Danang is the fourth largest city in Vietnam offering many fascinating cultural and historical places of interest such as the Cham Museum which was built in 1915, Cao Dai Temple and Ho Chi Minh Museum. Popular tourist spots include the pristine beaches at China beach and the cave temples of Marble Mountain with its intricate stone engraving. Danang boasts of some spectacular scenery and friendly locals who are ever willing to share a smile.
